PSH Insurance Inc. is a locally owned, independent health and life insurance brokerage firm serving Hawaii businesses and individuals since 1982.

First and foremost, PSH Insurance strives to maintain the highest level of professional and ethical standards. As CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designees, the Principals at PSH are committed to uphold the Code of Ethics and maintain continuing education requirements as adopted by the Board of Trustees of the American College.

 

We are an independent brokerage. We are not committed to any one product or vendor. Our recommendations are based solely on the needs of the customer and what makes sense for them.

We represent a broad product line. We offer a wide assortment of high-quality products from a broad range of vendors. In addition to conventional insurance products, PSH markets a number of unique product offerings. These include international group and individual medical, high deductible major medical for individuals, and short-term medical for non-COBRA groups.

 

We believe that each customer is unique. We are independent in our judgment and comprehensive in our approach to customer solutions. We understand that different customers will have different needs.

 

We listen to our customer's needs. The key to a successful partnership is open communication.

At PSH Insurance we listen to our client’s needs and priorities in order to best help them achieve their goals. PSH is staffed to handle all phases of new business development and implementation. However, we believe the real value of our partnership begins AFTER the sale. We stand with our customers every step of the way to serve as their advocates for all of their benefit plans.

 

Finally, in today’s competitive marketplace, value added services are essential to the retention of existing clients. Through its sister companies Planning Services of Hawaii and PSH Ventures, clients have access to non-insurance products and services to compliment their basic employee benefit programs.

We strive to work with our partners to find and design benefit solutions that will improve their bottom line by lowering overhead cost, and to enhance their ability to recruit and retain quality employees by providing high-value, high-quality benefit programs.

How have our partnership principles worked in practice for PSH?

  • In Hawaii, PSH represents all group health insurance carriers. As defined by these carriers, PSH currently ranks in the top three of brokerage firms working in the small-to-mid group market based on quote activity, cases sold, number of lives insured and total premium volume.

  • PSH was the first brokerage firm to be contracted to represent and develop the broker program with Kaiser Permanente.

  • PSH was one of the few brokerage firms initially invited to market HMSA health plans. Today, PSH represents more than 700+ group customers and 2,500+ individuals.

  • PSH represents more than 80 product lines from 40 carriers and this number continues to grow each year.

What can our customers expect from us in the future?
Our customers can expect to communicate with us in new and more efficient ways by means of enhanced technology.

We are looking at more products and services in the long-term care and retiree market with special emphasis on the growing early retiree market in Hawaii.
 

In addition to working with employer groups, PSH provides individual products and services that mirror its group coverage. In many cases, key business owners require special needs that only an individual product can provide. PSH will apply our same business principles in working with individuals as it does with business clients.
